Technical Application Specialist – Water Treatment/Wastewater

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Aids in the sales initiatives for water treatment chemicals across industrial, municipal, metal finishing, and food production sectors.

• Performs on-site and/or laboratory evaluations and selections of products for water treatment needs.

• Executes "Coagulation Studies" for drinking water products.

• Carries out wastewater product selection studies aimed at municipal and industrial clarification processes.

• Conducts studies on sludge dewatering for both municipal and industrial contexts.

• Performs coagulation and permanganate demand assessments, providing treatment recommendations for iron filtration systems.

• Supports professional organizations by contributing to professional training seminars.

• Aids in the creation of new products and applications for Hawkins, Inc.'s offerings.

• Conducts and assists in the execution of plant trials related to drinking water and wastewater applications.

• Diagnoses customer treatment systems and offers suggestions for enhancing performance.

• Participates in training Hawkins Water Treatment Group staff on potable and wastewater applications.

• Collaborates with the sales team to provide recommendations for scale and corrosion treatment in potable water, as well as suggestions for the Bio-Augmentation program.

⛳️ Requirements

• A four-year degree or equivalent experience is mandatory.

• A degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering is preferred.

• Prior sales experience is advantageous.

• Proven sales skills and a track record of successful selling.

• Capability to identify suitable business prospects and key contacts within accounts.

• Ability to earn the trust of customers and colleagues.

• Documented experience in managing a high volume of activity under diverse conditions.

• Skill to professionally and positively convey information regarding Hawkins products and services.

• Proficient computer skills; familiarity with computer systems and software, preferably JDE, is essential.

• Strong customer service abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Competent problem-solving capabilities.

• Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to perform calculations for flow rates, etc.

• Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.

• Proficient negotiation skills.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Effective organizational and follow-through skills are necessary.

• Proven history of working in a self-directed and autonomous environment.
