Structural Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Follow guidance from senior engineers to support design tasks while gaining valuable experience and developing the skills essential for successful project execution.

• Examine project-related design documents, including fabrication shop drawings, for accuracy and completeness.

• Assist in modeling various structures using finite element analysis for design purposes.

• Review different design codes to ensure the application of the correct design standards.

• Conduct value engineering design analyses to identify the most cost-effective design solutions.

• Occasionally participate in project site visits to assess construction quality.

• Show enthusiasm for utilizing various structural design codes such as IBC, ACI, ASCE 7, AISC, etc.

• Preferred experience with AutoCAD and/or finite element analysis.

• Must be open to traveling to project sites for brief periods (usually one to two days per trip) throughout the U.S. several times a year.

• Capability to walk on and evaluate structural reinforcement is required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A B.S. or M.S. (or M.E.) in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering.

• 0 to 4 years of relevant engineering experience.

• Completion of the F.E. exam (Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) registration) is mandatory, with the intention of obtaining professional licensure once the necessary experience is gained.

• Previous experience in the energy sector is preferred but not essential.

• A strong interest in reinforced concrete is advantageous.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
