This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee PETA’s shareholder initiatives

• Prepare and present selected shareholder inquiries and resolutions at the annual meetings of significant corporations

• Garner support for our initiatives from prominent institutional investors, endowments, and pension funds

• Build relationships with organizations and groups focused on humane investment

• Investigate the animal welfare and environmental policies enforced by major corporations

• Analyze historical proxies and voting records of institutional shareholders concerning animal issues and other relevant topics

• Evaluate our shareholder initiatives to promote PETA’s mission

• Research SEC regulations, timelines, and specifics related to each company's shareholder meetings

• Keep track of companies in which we hold shares; determine eligibility for attending meetings, posing questions, and submitting resolutions; coordinate with our broker and investment firm on all matters pertaining to PETA’s shareholder activities

• Travel as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities

• Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience

• At least two years of prior experience in corporate advocacy, finance, or corporate governance

• Proven ability to apply logical reasoning in shareholder engagements

• Familiarity with AI tools, such as CoPilot

• Comprehensive understanding of animal liberation topics and PETA campaigns

• Outstanding skills in critical thinking, organization, written and verbal communication, and presentations

• Strong research capabilities, including literature reviews, data synthesis, and data analysis

• Openness to receive and act on feedback

• Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively across all organizational levels, and prioritize team success

• Willingness and capacity to travel as necessary

• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 lbs.
