Tech Refresh Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Become a member of the Engineering Resolution and Modernization Team that provides support to the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Enterprise Information Technology as a Service (EITaaS).

• Oversee the technical upgrade of outdated ACAS components to the new Tenable infrastructure, which includes planning, testing, and executing pilot and enterprise-wide cutover activities.

• Construct, configure, and manage the Tenable Security Center, Nessus Scanners, Passive Vulnerability Scanner (PVS), and Nessus Agents across Linux/Unix and Windows platforms.

• Handle the daily operations of scan engines, scan jobs, policy creation, credential management, scheduling, and reporting functionalities.

• Address complex engineering challenges associated with vulnerability remediation, plugin/protocol errors, credential/firewall complications, and data feed issues within the ACAS/EITaaS framework.

• Create automation scripts using Python and PowerShell to enhance scanning processes, minimize manual efforts, and streamline remediation tracking.

• Ensure all ACAS components are set up in compliance with DISA STIGs, SCAP standards, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) guidelines.

• Develop and manage System Security Plans (SSPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and technical diagrams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active DoD Secret clearance is mandatory.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant IT experience, including at least 3 years of direct, hands-on experience with the Tenable Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS).

• At least 1 year of experience in supporting DoD or Air Force network environments.

• Comprehensive knowledge of ACAS/Tenable.sc/Nessus architecture.

• Proficient in Linux/Unix command-line operations (Red Hat preferred).

• Understanding of DISA STIGs and SCAP scanning processes.

• IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., CISSP, Security+ CE, GCSA) is required.
