Tech Lead – Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversee and design foundational systems for the live internal reporting dashboard and upcoming platform enhancements.

• Establish engineering standards and conduct pull request reviews to guarantee code quality and maintainability.

• Guide team members, allocate technical tasks, and assist developers in overcoming obstacles.

• Direct the product roadmap schedule by converting business objectives into sequential engineering milestones.

• Facilitate sprint and release planning, weighing technical debt, background optimization, and the rollout of new features.

• Collaborate with product leadership to outline feature scopes, requirements, and technical constraints.

• Develop features such as saved reports, PDF exports, email scheduling, and widget customization.

• Integrate and manage data pipelines for Meta Ads, GA4, and Google Ads.

• Ensure reliable metrics normalization and caching processes.

• Optimize cron scheduling, asynchronous background tasks, and queue architectures for extensive data processing.

• Spearhead initiatives for content approvals, automated onboarding workflows, client self-service portals, and AI operational modules.

• Take ownership of technical execution, product scoping, and timely delivery without corporate HR responsibilities, such as hiring, firing, or conducting formal performance reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Full-time position.

• Proficiency in React 19 and Next.js (App Router).

• Experience with TailwindCSS, Zustand, and React Query.

• Familiarity with Radix UI and shadcn/ui component systems.

• Skills in creating responsive layouts, drag-and-drop UIs, and animations.

• Knowledge of Node.js API routes using TypeScript.

• Experience with Prisma ORM and PostgreSQL hosted on Neon.

• Background job management using cron and ioredis.

• Proficient in Redis queues.

• Understanding of session-based authentication and role access logic.

• Experience managing third-party APIs for Meta, GA4, and Google Ads, including token refresh and retry mechanisms.

• Familiarity with Vercel hosting and Redis for asynchronous processing.

• Skills in PDF generation using puppeteer-core and sharp.

• Experience with email delivery via Resend.

• Knowledge of AWS S3 SDK integration for secure uploads.

• Strong skills in AI.

• Excellent communication abilities in asynchronous environments.

• Capability to manage timelines independently without micromanagement.

• Proven track record of balancing deep-work coding with project planning.

• Strategic use of AI tools such as Copilot and GPT.

• Ability to write clean, modular, and self-documenting code.

• Previous experience transitioning from a senior engineering role to Tech Lead, Team Lead, or Technical Product Owner.

• Experience in architecting internal administrative dashboards, agency operations tools, or multi-tenant reporting platforms.

• Familiarity with digital marketing metrics, attribution logic, or social analytics.

• Comfort in working within an autonomous, fast-paced early-stage team environment.
