This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

• You take full technical ownership of your domain, overseeing everything from architecture to production operations.

• You establish target architectures, make informed decisions regarding architecture and build-vs-buy scenarios, and implement clear technical guidelines for our contemporary Java/Spring Boot and Angular/TypeScript environments.

• You challenge existing solutions, keep abreast of market and technology trends, and intentionally advance our systems with a goal to actively influence the market rather than simply following it.

• You bridge the gap between product and engineering.

• You collaborate closely with Product and stakeholders to convert business objectives into actionable technical strategies.

• You critically assess requirements, clarify dependencies and risks, and facilitate informed decision-making.

• You explore AI opportunities and thoughtfully integrate them where they provide genuine value — whether in the development cycle or within the product itself.

• You maintain a focus on delivery, quality, and costs.

• You oversee the technical aspects throughout Discovery & Delivery, emphasizing architecture, quality, and cost/benefit analyses.

• You minimize unnecessary complexity and make explicit decisions regarding where innovation is beneficial.

• You consider engineering all the way through to operations.

• You uphold our high standards for code quality and ensure that we can consistently release swiftly and reliably.

• You look beyond the merge request, identify structural weaknesses early, and guarantee stability, maintainability, and transparency in production.

• You offer technical guidance.

• You collaborate with seasoned developers who work autonomously and engage in discussions as equals.

• Through collaboration, feedback, and shared guidelines, you assist them in taking ownership and making confident technical decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in developing complex software systems and holding technical leadership positions, such as Tech Lead, Senior Engineer, or Staff Engineer.

• A keen sense of architecture, system design, and sustainable technical choices within mature system landscapes.

• Proven experience in coordinating with Product and stakeholders, translating business needs into technical tasks while managing the feedback loop of technical decisions.

• Several years of hands-on experience with Java / Spring Boot and ideally familiarity with TypeScript / Angular.

• Proficient in handling APIs, integrations, distributed systems, and CI/CD for near-production software development.

• High standards for code quality, clear technical principles, and test coverage.

• A solid understanding of stability, scalability, and maintainability in production, especially under increasing traffic.

• Passion for empowering colleagues through guidance, collaboration, and decisive actions.

• Interest in pragmatically utilizing new technologies and meaningfully integrating AI capabilities into the product (e.g., experience with Claude Code, Copilot, or similar tools).
