This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Assume technical accountability for your domain, overseeing everything from architecture to production operations.
• Outline target architectures and make informed decisions about architecture and build-versus-buy options.
• Set technical guidelines for the Java/Spring Boot and Angular/TypeScript technology ecosystem.
• Question existing solutions and intentionally enhance systems.
• Collaborate closely with Product and stakeholders, converting business goals into technical strategies.
• Evaluate requirements critically and clarify dependencies and risks.
• Assess the potential of AI and incorporate it where it adds real value.
• Take ownership of technical aspects during both discovery and delivery, focusing on architecture, quality, and cost-benefit analyses.
• Uphold coding and quality standards to ensure rapid and reliable releases.
• Detect structural weaknesses early to maintain stability, maintainability, and transparency in production.
• Support experienced developers through mentoring, constructive feedback, and shared guidelines.
• Exhibit open, clear, and inspiring leadership, especially during transitional phases.
• Several years of experience in developing complex software systems and offering technical leadership, such as in roles like Tech Lead, Senior Engineer, or Staff Engineer.
• In-depth understanding of architecture, system design, and making sustainable technical choices in established system environments.
• Experience in aligning with Product and stakeholders, translating business needs into technical assignments.
• Ownership of the feedback mechanism for technical decisions.
• Multiple years of experience with Java/Spring Boot.
• Ideally, familiarity with TypeScript/Angular.
• Proficient in working with APIs, integrations, distributed systems, and CI/CD in a production-focused software development context.
• High standards for code quality, clear technical principles, and thorough test coverage.
• Solid understanding of stability, scalability, and maintainability in production settings.
• Interest in the practical application of new technologies and the thoughtful integration of AI into products.
• Proficiency in German at a professional working level (C1), both written and spoken.
