Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.

📋 Description

• Design and develop CGA's cloud offerings, including backend infrastructure and frontend as necessary.

• Take ownership of complex technical challenges from inception to delivery, including monitoring and iterative improvements.

• Employ test-driven development to ensure high software quality.

• Participate in architectural decision-making and influence CGA's technical trajectory.

• Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders, provide accurate estimates, communicate effectively, and fulfill commitments.

• Adhere to and enhance CI/CD, testing, and deployment methodologies.

• Monitor product performance and address any arising issues.

• Guide colleagues, enhance team quality, and exemplify engineering best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Strong full-stack capabilities with extensive backend and infrastructure expertise at a senior level.

• Proficiency (or near proficiency) in HTML5/CSS, React, TypeScript, Node, Postgres, Docker, AWS, and Terraform.

• Proven history of delivering software in a robust CI/CD environment.

• Clear and honest communication skills with a team-oriented mindset.

• Genuine desire to evolve into a technical leadership role over time.

• Personal dedication to upholding CGA's standards.

• Experience in developing educational or other consumer-facing products for a global audience (highly valued).

• Background in mentoring or advising junior engineers (highly valued).

• Comfort in managing production systems across various regions and time zones (highly valued).
