Tech Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the existing architecture and create a feasible modernization roadmap, emphasizing changes that provide value while ensuring minimal disruption for current clients.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team. Establish technical benchmarks and foster a culture where individuals take responsibility for maintaining quality.

• Implement automated testing, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and observability. Establish a foundation for quicker, more dependable releases.

• Identify and spearhead AI initiatives throughout the development lifecycle and product offerings. This includes enhancing team operations (such as code generation, test automation, and workflow tools) and creating AI-enhanced features for our clients.

• Design systems that distinguish business logic from legacy components, facilitate multi-tenant SaaS delivery, and grant greater autonomy to our web modules.

• Formulate strategies for gradual client migration, automated deployment, and minimizing per-client maintenance overhead, all while ensuring system reliability.

• Collaborate closely with product, operations, and professional services to ensure that technical choices align with business objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a tech lead or senior engineering leader, with a successful history of modernizing legacy systems or directing platform migrations in live environments with actual users.

• In-depth knowledge of legacy-to-modern migration strategies (such as strangler fig, API layering, incremental decoupling) and the practical insight to apply them in situations where downtime and client disruption are unacceptable.

• Strong backend architecture expertise. Proven experience in designing scalable, maintainable systems using modern stacks (.NET/C#, Python, Node.js, Go, or similar) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

• Proficient in SQL Server and relational database design, migration, and optimization.

• Hands-on experience in integrating DevOps and CI/CD practices into teams or codebases that previously lacked them.

• Practical experience with AI. You have utilized AI tools in development processes (such as code generation, testing, automation) or have created AI-driven features, and you can assess new AI technologies and transform them into actionable initiatives for the team.

• Fluent in both English and Spanish, in both written and spoken forms. Daily operations are conducted in both languages.

• Available during Spanish business hours (CET/CEST). Remote work is acceptable, but some schedule overlap is necessary.

• Proactive mindset. You identify areas that need improvement before being prompted, propose solutions, and ensure follow-through.
