Tech Lead, Android Core Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of major features and collaborate closely with the design team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality in-app functionalities.

• Influence the future direction of the Android team.

• Manage, sustain, and enhance reliability metrics for essential features.

• Engage in discussions with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.

• Review pull requests and provide support to team members.

• Address critical issues and navigate unexpected challenges.

• Take responsibility for feature releases and deliver nightly builds for the QA team.

• Assist the expanding Android user base and contribute to new projects.

• Make informed product decisions and create user experiences that delight users.

• Participate in multiple technical interviews aimed for completion within one week.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering.

• Familiarity with Android components.

• Experience in building or contributing to at least one Android application.

• Strong product design intuition and user empathy.

• Motivation to push the limits of Android UI/UX.

• Understanding of the significance of testing and how to effectively write tests.

• Self-motivation to enhance the app and codebase beyond the outlined specifications.

• Extensive experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.

• Exceptional communication skills.

• User-oriented problem-solving mindset.

• Driven by continuous feedback from leadership.

• Submission of portfolio and LinkedIn links is requested with the application.

• Bonus: Experience in building, maintaining, or contributing to open source projects in Android.

• Bonus: Familiarity with iOS, Web, or NodeJS.
