Tech Lead, Android Core Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of major features within the application and collaborate closely with the design team to deliver high-quality functionalities.

• Influence the future direction of the Android team.

• Manage, maintain, and enhance reliability metrics for pivotal features.

• Engage in discussions with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.

• Review pull requests and offer support to fellow teammates.

• Address critical issues and manage unforeseen challenges effectively.

• Oversee feature releases and supply nightly builds for the QA team.

• Participate in various technical interviews aimed at completion within one week.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering.

• Knowledge of Android components.

• Experience in developing or contributing to at least one Android application.

• Strong intuition for product design and empathy for users.

• Motivation to innovate within the realms of Android UI/UX.

• Familiarity with software testing and test-writing methodologies.

• Self-motivated to enhance the application and codebase beyond the initial specifications.

• Proficient in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.

• Outstanding communication skills.

• User-focused problem-solving mindset.

• Motivated by continuous feedback from leadership.

• Experience with Android open-source projects is a plus.

• Familiarity with iOS, Web, or NodeJS is an added advantage.
