This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Manage the daily operations of all aspects for designated JACC Specialty Journals.
• Identify editorial and production efficiencies as well as synergies between the publishing efforts of all JACC journals.
• Collaborate with key member leaders of JACC journals, offering guidance and direction to fulfill both editorial and business requirements.
• Supervise staff and contractors involved in the submission and peer review processes for selected JACC Specialty Journals.
• Ensure adherence to best practices consistently across all journals.
• Facilitate a stable and user-friendly platform for all stakeholders.
• Oversee the organization of outreach events for selected JACC Specialty Journals.
• A Bachelor’s degree accompanied by a minimum of 8 years of experience in peer-reviewed STM publishing, including management roles.
• Proven ability to effectively lead a team and contractors in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment while managing the expectations of editors in a respectful and professional manner.
• Capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with varying deadlines in a fast-paced editorial/publishing setting.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and administrative skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficient computer skills, including a working knowledge of word processing, scheduling, and spreadsheet applications.
• Background in the medical field; familiarity with the cardiovascular domain is highly preferred.
• Understanding of data analytics and reporting techniques.
• Certification or a Master’s degree in Publishing is desirable.
• Occasional travel may be requested or required.
