Medical Science Liaison, T1D Immunology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Act as a reliable scientific collaborator with external experts, healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and decision-makers.

• Engage in timely, relevant, and frequent scientific discussions.

• Generate actionable insights and offer strategic solutions.

• Foster cross-functional partnerships and work closely with internal stakeholders.

• Implement the medical plan for the therapeutic area.

• Establish and nurture needs-based peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders.

• Tailor scientific content to align with the perspectives and requirements of healthcare providers.

• Develop and execute strategic medical action plans specific to the territory.

• Accurately and fairly communicate the benefits, risks, appropriate usage, and clinical value of products.

• Operate autonomously and cultivate healthcare networks at national, regional, and local levels.

• Collect and relay data, facts, and insights regarding the external healthcare landscape.

• Support medical strategy and represent the voices of KOLs and healthcare professionals.

• Collaborate with office-based medical colleagues to shape and jointly implement the country medical plan.

• Provide scientific support to commercial, market access, regulatory/pharmacovigilance, and R&D teams.

• Complete MSL standard operating procedures, corporate compliance, onboarding, and certification training.

• Maintain expertise in the therapy area and enhance technical and transversal skills.

• Create a personalized development plan.

⛳️ Requirements

• A medical, pharmacy, or postgraduate-level science degree, such as PharmD, MD/DO, DNP, PhD, or PA.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a field medical role or the pharmaceutical industry, or clinical experience in Type 1 Diabetes and/or immunology.

• Reside in the current territory or be open to relocation.

• Strong understanding of the healthcare landscape within the territory.

• Proficiency in spoken and written business English.

• In-depth knowledge and clinical experience related to diabetes disease states along with relevant portfolio and pipeline products.

• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

• Familiarity with omnichannel tools and digital communication in a remote, non-office-based setting.

• Understanding of, or previous experience in, clinical development and clinical research.

• Capability to critically assess clinical study protocols, reports, and publications.

• Knowledge of pharmacovigilance and local regulatory processes.

• Strong business acumen with the ability to develop strategic plans and implement medical initiatives.

• Demonstrated integrity, ethical standards, and adherence to high-quality benchmarks.

• Possession of a valid US driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to successfully pass a background check.

• Capability to operate a motor vehicle safely while adhering to company policies and traffic regulations.

• Willingness to travel 60–80%, primarily within the territory, including attendance at US congresses and internal meetings.
