This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• You will hold technical oversight for the ongoing enhancement of the product, encompassing architecture, data models, backend, frontend, and interfaces.
• You will refactor the legacy stack: analyzing the current codebase, defining a target architecture, and leading a gradual, risk-aware migration to cloud-native, modular services and well-defined APIs—pragmatically and avoiding a big-bang approach.
• You will advance the AI-driven development process: establishing and scaling the implementation of AI tools throughout the entire SDLC (coding assistance, code review, test generation, documentation) and making AI-supported workflows the standard for the team.
• Collaborating with Product Management, you will create a product roadmap for various global markets, translating market and region-specific requirements into a coherent, technically feasible roadmap—clarifying trade-offs between localization, standardization, and time-to-market.
• You will be responsible for hiring, coaching, and developing a lean, high-performing engineering team: recruiting the right engineers, actively mentoring them, setting standards, and maximizing the potential of a small setup.
• You will ensure delivery excellence by establishing scalable development processes (CI/CD, automated testing, observability, incident management) and ensuring reliable releases.
• Close collaboration with executive management, Business Development, Product Management, Customer Success, and international stakeholders will be required as you translate strategic and commercial objectives into viable technical solutions.
• You will ensure platform stability, security, data protection, and compliance within a highly regulated environment.
• You will also apply AI-supported methods within the product, such as data enrichment, classification, and decision support.
• You will actively contribute to the group-wide tech strategy of the Vivecti Group, including API harmonization, shared data models, cross-entity initiatives, and tech due diligence for new acquisitions.
• You should have several years of experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or Head of Engineering in a SaaS or platform setting—ideally with responsibility for a mature product that you have modernized.
• Proven experience in refactoring and migrating established system architectures—from legacy to cloud-native—without disrupting day-to-day operations is essential.
• Experience with products launched in multiple countries or global markets, including localization, regulatory considerations, and regional data requirements, is necessary.
• A solid understanding of modern software architectures (cloud-native, microservices, event-driven) and experience with at least one hyperscaler (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is required.
• A genuine hands-on mentality is crucial: you still code, review code, and engage in discussions about architecture and data models with your team on an equal level while also leading them.
• Experience with complex data models and integrations with third-party systems is important.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools and a passion for integrating AI into everyday engineering work are required.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in lean teams: you will drive high performance in small setups, provide feedback, set standards, and foster an environment where engineers enjoy working.
• Hiring and team development should be a core competency: you will attract the right engineers, develop them intentionally, and build a team that evolves with the product.
• Confident stakeholder management up to C-level/executive management, along with close collaboration with Business Development, Product, and Customer Success, is necessary.
• A strong delivery orientation is essential: you should focus on outcomes and reliability rather than just tasks.
• Competent communication in both German and English with stakeholders from product, management, and customer environments is required.
• An entrepreneurial, results-oriented working style coupled with a passion for your work is expected.
• Flexible working arrangements (remote, with a preference for Berlin).
• Excellent development opportunities within the group.
