This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee timecard management and maintain the time off calendar.
• Facilitate and support the training of both new and current employees.
• Supervise team members and address their inquiries.
• Allocate daily tasks to all team members.
• Review employees' work and offer constructive feedback, assistance, and additional training as required.
• Conduct regular team meetings.
• Track employee productivity through ActivTrak.
• Monitor ageing claims in Office Managers closely.
• Ensure that denial rates and insurance call production meet established targets.
• Aid in identifying and addressing recurring accounts receivable (AR) issues.
• Daily management and assessment of workflow folders.
• Address Manager Review items flagged by other departments and team members.
• Evaluate and distribute the Client Request List to the Client Service team.
• Review and assess unfavorable appeals.
• Collaborate with Follow Up Managers to implement process enhancements.
• Notify Follow Up Managers of issues requiring high-level intervention for resolution.
• Follow up with insurance carriers on unpaid claims after the specified aging period.
• Communicate with insurance companies through phone, portals, and email to inquire about claims denied erroneously or requiring additional information for payment resolution.
• Utilize various online platforms and portals to investigate claims.
• Recognize denial patterns and other issues with insurance carriers and report to the lead for review to help mitigate future denials.
• Manage appeals for claims that have been denied.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, medical assisting, or a similar field is preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in AR Follow-Up is required.
• Familiarity with Professional CMS 1500 Billing, various Clearinghouses, Billing Systems, and EMR systems.
• Understanding of billing requirements across multiple states, including both Commercial and Government payers.
• Fully remote work environment.
• Expected to work from a designated home office or a quiet and secure location, free from distractions.
• Access to an appropriate workspace, including reliable internet connectivity.
