Team Lead Engineer – Developer Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Lead and shape the Developer Experience (DevEx) function as a premium internal platform, defining its mission, scope, and operational framework.

• Foster a robust and inclusive team culture, promoting sustainable delivery practices and clear operational methodologies.

• Empower engineering teams to deliver faster and more reliably by enhancing developer workflows, tools, and standards.

• Champion the adoption and progression of a cohesive Design System across engineering and design, ensuring uniformity and scalability.

• Convert company and engineering strategies into a well-defined, outcome-focused DevEx roadmap.

• Cultivate strong collaborations with Product, Design, Security, and other Platform teams to maximize organizational impact.


⛳️ Requirements

• You have experience in leading and scaling engineering teams.

• You possess strong leadership skills and take pleasure in coaching, developing, and nurturing engineers.

• You have a technical background that enables you to confidently establish technical direction.

• You think in terms of platforms and products, viewing developers as your customers.

• You communicate effectively and confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• You are adept at guiding teams through uncertainty, transforming strategy into execution and measurable results.

• Familiarity with modern software engineering ecosystems (backend and/or frontend), such as Node.js, React, and containerized applications.

• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or similar.

• Understanding of developer workflows and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, version control, and GitHub-based workflows.

• Awareness of emerging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, workflow automation, developer agents).
