Team Lead, Cloud & DevOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• You will assume strategic responsibilities while remaining closely connected to the technology.

• Your focus will be on transforming to secure, scalable, and future-ready cloud infrastructures.

• You will have both technical and managerial responsibility for a skilled team of Cloud & DevOps Engineers.

• You will provide technical leadership to project teams, coordinate projects, and manage resources.

• You will actively develop your team members both technically and personally.

• Approximately 60% of your time will be dedicated to directly contributing to client projects.

• Your work will involve architecture and design, emphasizing private cloud environments and selected public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, STACKIT).

• You will take on product ownership and develop technical visions for our clients.

• You will assist with tenders and proposals, alongside providing technical support during presales discussions.

• You will make strategic contributions to ARES’s growth.


⛳️ Requirements

• A degree or vocational training in a field related to IT.

• Relevant experience in the public sector or critical infrastructure (KRITIS) environment.

• Experience in recruiting and managing personnel.

• Proven ability to design and architect modern cloud and platform solutions, especially in private-cloud or hybrid settings.

• Strong knowledge of the Kubernetes ecosystem.

• Familiarity with public cloud providers and their services is preferred (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, STACKIT).

• Experience in presales or technical customer consulting is advantageous.

• Ability to confidently justify technical decisions.

• You will incorporate IT security into all technical decisions.

• An independent, communicative working style with a strong customer focus is essential.

• Proficient in both German and English.

• Willingness to travel within Germany (averaging a maximum of 3 days per month).

• Willingness to undergo a security check (SÜ1 or SÜ2) as per the Security Clearance Act (SÜG).
