Forward Deployed DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate directly with organizations to implement reliable, secure, and best-practice infrastructure.

• Take ownership of both green-field and brown-field infrastructure projects.

• Design, develop, and manage CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and incident response.

• Lead initial engagements by performing discovery, creating 30–60–90-day infrastructure plans, and securing executive support.

• Respond to incidents, troubleshoot outages, and deploy solutions that prevent future occurrences.

• Engage in pair programming with teams, facilitate brownbag sessions, and produce clear runbooks.

• Gather field data to enhance internal tools and playbooks.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in building and managing production cloud infrastructure.

• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects or consulting assignments successfully.

• Extensive experience with at least one major cloud provider along with Kubernetes.

• Proficient in Terraform (or Pulumi/CDK).

• Familiarity with contemporary CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, GitLab, or Buildkite.

• Experience with observability platforms like Prometheus/Grafana, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry.

• Strong foundational knowledge in networking, Linux, containers, and security.

• Prior experience in forward-deployed roles or consulting is a plus.

• Experience in strengthening SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA environments is advantageous.

• Expertise in serverless architectures, data platforms, or multi-cloud routing is a plus.

• Proficiency in Go or Python for custom tooling is a plus.
