This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Take ownership of significant features from inception to release, collaborating closely with the design team throughout the process.
• Manage, sustain, and enhance reliability metrics for essential features.
• Evaluate pull requests and offer constructive feedback on development.
• Remove obstacles for the team by investigating and resolving issues.
• Identify reusable implementations and set them as standards for the team.
• Maintain well-tested, clear, and consolidated shared components.
• Enhance team processes and minimize manual interventions in successful releases.
• Address recurring issues at the underlying system level.
• Shift verification processes to the left and broaden automated checks.
• Facilitate planning and prioritize tasks that require decision-making.
• Define review criteria and approval checkpoints.
• Engage in discussions with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
• Manage critical issues, oversee feature releases, and provide nightly builds for QA.
• Mentor early-career engineers through learning-focused tasks and development opportunities.
• Minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience, including leadership of a team or ownership of a major product while remaining hands-on.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
• Proven experience in shipping and maintaining background audio or other long-running background tasks.
• Comprehension of the significance of tests and strategies for writing them, including understanding limitations.
• An example of a concept you implemented within a team that remained effective after your influence waned, along with an honest assessment of the effort required to achieve it.
• Ability to encourage colleagues to adopt changes in their work habits and cope with the resulting challenges.
• Insight into which changes require extensive review and which do not, based on the system’s functionality.
• A successful history of developing products that your team actively utilized.
• Capability to explain how your team collaborates with AI agents.
• Intuition for product design, empathy for users, and motivation to advance Android UI/UX beyond standard specifications.
• Self-motivation to enhance the app and codebase beyond what is outlined in specifications.
• Exceptional communication abilities.
• Completion of several technical interviews along with an assessment on a real codebase.
