This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Take ownership of significant features from inception to launch, collaborating closely with the design team throughout the process.
• Manage, uphold, and enhance reliability metrics for essential features.
• Evaluate pull requests and offer constructive feedback for development.
• Assist team members by investigating and resolving technical challenges.
• Recognize and standardize reusable solutions across the team.
• Sustain shared components through testing, documentation, and consolidation.
• Drive improvements in team processes.
• Minimize manual intervention needed for successful releases.
• Tackle recurring issues by modifying the underlying systems.
• Advance verification practices by expanding automated checks.
• Facilitate planning sessions to ensure the team focuses on unresolved decisions.
• Establish suitable review levels and approval processes.
• Engage in discussions involving Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
• Manage critical problems, take ownership of feature releases, and provide nightly builds for QA.
• Mentor and support early-career team members through learning-oriented tasks.
• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering, including leadership of a team or ownership of a significant surface while remaining hands-on.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
• Experience in shipping and maintaining background audio or other long-running background tasks.
• Comprehension of the significance of tests and strategies for writing them, including aspects that may not be covered.
• A successful initiative you introduced to a team that persisted after your involvement ended, along with a candid account of the effort required to achieve it.
• Comfort with encouraging changes in work practices and navigating any resulting friction.
• Ability to discern which changes necessitate thorough review and which do not, supported by an understanding of the system's functionality.
• Proven track record of building solutions that are utilized by your team.
• Capacity to articulate how your team interacts with AI agents.
• Intuition for product design, user empathy, and ambition to elevate Android UI/UX beyond the specifications.
• Self-motivation to enhance the application and codebase beyond the outlined specifications.
• Exceptional communication abilities.
