This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Take ownership of significant features from concept to launch, collaborating closely with the design team throughout the process.
• Manage, maintain, and enhance the reliability metrics associated with key features.
• Evaluate pull requests and offer constructive feedback.
• Assist engineers in overcoming obstacles and resolving team challenges.
• Identify reusable solutions and integrate shared components.
• Ensure that shared resources are tested, comprehensible, and easy to maintain.
• Enhance team workflows and minimize manual interventions in release processes.
• Resolve recurring issues by modifying the foundational setup.
• Broaden automated verification and shift testing earlier in the development cycle.
• Conduct planning sessions and prioritize tasks that require decision-making.
• Establish review criteria and ownership for sign-off processes.
• Engage in discussions involving Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
• Address critical issues, oversee feature releases, and provide nightly builds for quality assurance.
• Mentor early-career engineers by offering them meaningful tasks and learning opportunities.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, including experience leading a team or managing a significant surface while remaining hands-on.
• Proficient in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
• Experience in shipping and maintaining background audio or other prolonged background tasks.
• Comprehension of the significance of tests and strategies for writing them, including aspects that cannot be tested.
• An example of an initiative you introduced to a team that continued after your involvement, along with a candid assessment of the effort required to implement it.
• Comfort with the less popular aspects of the role: encouraging colleagues to adapt their work habits and managing the resulting friction.
• Insight into which changes necessitate thorough review and which do not, based on system functionality.
• A proven history of developing solutions that your team actively utilized, rather than just those that enhanced your speed.
• The capability to articulate how your team collaborates with AI agents, not just your personal methods.
• An intuitive grasp of product design, user empathy, and a commitment to advancing Android UI/UX beyond the specifications.
• A self-motivated approach to enhancing the application and codebase beyond the outlined requirements.
