This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Take ownership of significant features from inception to delivery in collaboration with the design team.
• Manage, sustain, and enhance reliability metrics for essential features.
• Evaluate pull requests and offer constructive developmental feedback.
• Assist engineers in overcoming obstacles and addressing team challenges.
• Standardize reusable implementations and unify duplicate solutions.
• Maintain well-tested and clearly defined shared components.
• Streamline team processes and minimize manual interventions during releases.
• Modify underlying systems to eliminate recurring issues.
• Broaden automated verification processes and shift testing to earlier stages.
• Facilitate planning and direct team focus toward decision-critical tasks.
• Establish review requirements and sign-off responsibilities.
• Engage in discussions involving Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
• Address critical issues, oversee feature releases, and deliver nightly builds to QA.
• Provide support and learning opportunities for early-career engineers.
• A minimum of 5 years in software engineering, including experience in team leadership or ownership of a significant surface while remaining hands-on.
• Proficiency in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit testing.
• Experience in shipping and maintaining background audio or other long-duration background tasks.
• Comprehension of the significance of tests and strategies for writing them, including limitations on coverage.
• A contribution you've made to a team that persisted after your involvement ended, along with a candid reflection on the effort required to achieve it.
• Comfort in encouraging changes in work habits and managing the resulting friction.
• Insight into which changes necessitate extensive review and which do not, based on the system's functionality.
• Proven history of developing tools and solutions that are actively utilized by your team.
• Capability to explain how your team integrates with AI agents.
• An intuitive sense of product design, empathy for users, and a passion for enhancing Android UI/UX beyond standard specifications.
• Self-motivation to advance the app and codebase beyond set specifications.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience with open-source Android projects, iOS, Web, or NodeJS is beneficial but not mandatory.
