This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Take ownership of significant Android features from conception to release, collaborating closely with the Design team.
• Manage, maintain, and enhance reliability metrics for essential features.
• Evaluate pull requests and offer constructive feedback on development.
• Assist engineers in overcoming obstacles by directly investigating issues.
• Standardize reusable solutions and streamline duplicate implementations.
• Oversee shared code, ensuring it is well-tested and comprehensible.
• Propel improvements in team processes.
• Minimize the necessity for manual intervention in successful releases.
• Address recurring issues by modifying foundational systems.
• Shift verification to earlier stages through automated checks.
• Facilitate planning and prioritize tasks that require decision-making.
• Establish review standards and approval processes.
• Engage in discussions with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
• Manage critical issues, take charge of feature releases, and provide nightly builds for Quality Assurance.
• Mentor early-career engineers with meaningful tasks and opportunities for learning.
• A minimum of 5 years in software engineering, including experience leading a team or owning a significant surface while remaining hands-on.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
• Proven experience in shipping and maintaining background audio or managing other long-running background tasks.
• Comprehension of the significance of tests and strategies for writing them, including limitations on coverage.
• A tangible example of an initiative you implemented that became a lasting practice within the team, along with a candid account of the resources it required.
• Some experience in encouraging team members to alter their workflows and managing the accompanying challenges.
• An ability to discern which changes necessitate extensive review and which do not, supported by an understanding of system functionality.
• A history of creating solutions that have been effectively utilized by your team.
• Capacity to articulate how your team collaborates with AI agents.
• Intuition for product design, empathy for users, and a commitment to advancing Android UI/UX beyond the provided specifications.
• Self-motivation to enhance the application and codebase beyond the initial requirements.
• Exceptional communication abilities.
• Completion of several technical interviews, along with an assessment on a real codebase.
