This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Take ownership of significant features from inception to release, collaborating closely with the design team throughout the process.
• Manage, maintain, and enhance reliability metrics for essential features.
• Conduct pull request reviews and offer constructive feedback to peers.
• Assist team members by removing obstacles and resolving technical challenges.
• Identify and establish standardized solutions for the entire team to utilize.
• Ensure that shared components are tested, well-defined, and consolidated.
• Lead modifications to team processes for better efficiency.
• Minimize the need for manual intervention to ensure accurate releases.
• Tackle recurring issues by modifying the foundational systems.
• Promote early verification by expanding automated checks.
• Facilitate planning sessions focused on decision-driven work.
• Set clear review requirements and sign-off procedures.
• Engage in discussions involving Product, Design, and Engineering.
• Manage critical issues, take charge of feature releases, and provide nightly builds for Quality Assurance.
• Mentor early-career engineers by offering them meaningful tasks and learning opportunities.
• Write, review, and take hands-on ownership of code and features.
• A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience, including leadership of a team or ownership of a major surface while remaining hands-on.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
• Proven experience in shipping and maintaining background audio or other prolonged background tasks.
• A solid understanding of test importance and effective strategies for writing them, including limitations on coverage.
• An example of an initiative you implemented within a team that persisted after your involvement, along with a candid account of the resources required to achieve it.
• Comfort in encouraging others to adapt their work habits and managing any ensuing friction.
• A perspective on which changes warrant extensive review and which do not, supported by a clear understanding of system functionality.
• A history of developing solutions that are effectively utilized by your team.
• Ability to articulate how your team integrates with AI agents.
• Strong intuition for product design, user empathy, and a commitment to advancing Android UI/UX beyond the specifications.
• Self-motivation to enhance the application and codebase beyond the outlined specifications.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Successful completion of several technical interviews and an assessment on an actual codebase.
