This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Lithuania.
• Take ownership of significant features from inception to launch in collaboration with the design team.
• Manage, sustain, and enhance reliability metrics for essential features.
• Evaluate pull requests and offer constructive feedback on development.
• Assist engineers in overcoming obstacles and look into stalled projects.
• Recognize and standardize reusable solutions within the team.
• Keep shared components well-tested, clear, and consolidated.
• Lead modifications to team processes.
• Minimize the need for manual intervention to ensure accurate releases.
• Tackle recurring issues by transforming underlying systems.
• Broaden automated verification and integrate testing earlier in the process.
• Organize planning and prioritize tasks that necessitate decision-making.
• Establish review requirements and sign-off milestones.
• Engage in discussions with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
• Manage critical issues, oversee feature releases, and supply nightly builds for QA.
• Facilitate the learning and development of early-career engineers.
• A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience, including leadership of a team or ownership of a significant surface while remaining hands-on.
• Proficient in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
• Experience in shipping and maintaining background audio or other prolonged background tasks.
• Comprehension of the significance of tests and strategies for writing them, including aspects that may not be testable.
• Proven experience in implementing a team practice that continued after its execution.
• Comfort in requesting changes in workflows and managing the resulting friction.
• Capability to assess which changes necessitate extensive review and which do not.
• History of building solutions that the team actively utilized.
• Ability to articulate how the team collaborates with AI agents.
• Intuition for product design, user empathy, and a commitment to enhancing Android UI/UX.
• Self-motivation to enhance the application and codebase beyond the initial specifications.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Participation in several technical interviews along with an assessment on a real codebase.
