This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Take ownership of significant Android features from inception to deployment, collaborating closely with the Design team.
• Manage, enhance, and uphold reliability metrics for essential features.
• Conduct pull request reviews and offer developmental insights.
• Assist engineers in overcoming obstacles by investigating unresolved issues.
• Identify and promote the adoption of reusable solutions within the team.
• Maintain shared codebases and streamline redundant implementations.
• Lead initiatives to improve team processes.
• Minimize manual efforts required for successful releases.
• Tackle recurring issues by modifying fundamental systems.
• Promote early verification and broaden automated testing measures.
• Oversee planning and prioritize tasks that demand decision-making.
• Establish review standards and define ownership for approvals.
• Engage in discussions involving Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
• Manage critical problems, oversee feature launches, and deliver nightly builds to QA.
• Provide mentorship to early-career engineers by facilitating learning opportunities.
• Minimum of 5 years in software engineering, including experience leading a team or managing a significant feature while remaining hands-on.
• Proficient in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit testing.
• Demonstrated experience in shipping and sustaining background audio or other prolonged background tasks.
• Knowledge of the significance of testing and strategies for writing effective tests, including limitations of coverage.
• Initiated a change within a team that continued to be utilized post-implementation.
• Comfort in prompting changes in work habits and managing the associated friction.
• Skill in discerning which modifications require thorough review and which do not.
• Proven history of developing solutions that the team actively employs.
• Capability to articulate how the team integrates AI agents into workflows.
• Strong intuition for product design, user empathy, and a commitment to enhancing Android UI/UX.
• Self-motivated to enhance the application and codebase beyond initial specifications.
• Exceptional communication abilities.
• Completion of several technical interviews alongside an assessment on a real codebase.
