This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Greece.
• Take ownership of major features from inception through to release in collaboration with the design team.
• Manage, enhance, and uphold reliability metrics for essential features.
• Conduct pull request reviews and offer constructive developmental feedback.
• Assist engineers in overcoming obstacles and investigate any stalled tasks.
• Streamline shared implementations and create standardized team-wide versions.
• Ensure the availability of tested, clear, and reusable shared components.
• Lead initiatives to refine team processes.
• Minimize manual interventions necessary for successful releases.
• Tackle recurring issues by modifying underlying systems.
• Enhance automated verification processes and shift testing earlier in the development cycle.
• Oversee planning and prioritize tasks that require critical decisions.
• Establish appropriate review levels and sign-off criteria.
• Engage in discussions across Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
• Manage critical issues, oversee feature releases, and deliver nightly builds to QA.
• Mentor early-career engineers by providing learning opportunities.
• Write code, review code, and actively participate in feature ownership.
• Minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience, including leading a team or owning a significant feature while remaining hands-on.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
• Proven experience in shipping and maintaining background audio or other long-running background tasks.
• Comprehensive understanding of the significance of tests and strategies for writing them, including aspects that may not be testable.
• An example of a change you implemented that persisted after your influence waned, along with an honest evaluation of the effort involved.
• Comfort in encouraging changes in team practices and navigating the resulting challenges.
• Insight into which changes necessitate extensive review and which do not, based on the system's functionality.
• A history of developing solutions that your team found practical and beneficial.
• Capability to articulate how your team collaborates with AI agents.
• A strong sense of product design, user empathy, and the ambition to elevate Android UI/UX beyond the specifications.
• Self-motivation to enhance the application and codebase beyond the outlined requirements.
• Exceptional communication skills.

• Experience with open source Android projects, iOS, Web, or NodeJS is considered a plus.
