This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local tax obligations, including income, franchise, sales/use, property, and other relevant filings, while staying updated on changing federal and state tax regulations impacting healthcare and PACE organizations.
• Facilitate the preparation and review of tax returns in collaboration with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
• Recognize and implement tax-efficient strategies that align with the organization’s operational and financial goals.
• Assess the tax implications of new market expansions, operational adjustments, and reimbursement frameworks, while formulating forward-thinking tax planning strategies that support the organization’s growth trajectory.
• Provide tax analysis and structuring assistance for acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships, and other strategic transactions.
• Collaborate with legal, finance, and executive leadership on entity structuring, organizational design, and tax considerations for new states, markets, and program frameworks.
• Simplify complex tax issues into actionable guidance for business stakeholders and assist with strategic finance initiatives alongside the Controller and CFO.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or taxation; a master’s degree in taxation is preferred; CPA designation is preferred.
• Seven (7) to ten (10) years of tax experience in public accounting, healthcare, or corporate tax environments.
• Extensive experience with multi-state taxation and complex entity structures.
• Proven experience in supporting tax planning, structuring, or transaction-related projects.
• Experience with public companies is strongly preferred.
• Background in healthcare, managed care, nonprofit, or provider organizations is highly preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with data query/data management tools (Access, SQL, Business Objects).
