This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the quarterly and annual global income tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740.
• Supervise calculations for current and deferred taxes, valuation allowance evaluations, uncertain tax positions (FIN 48), and associated financial statement disclosures.
• Manage the consolidation of global tax provision data, which includes legal entity outcomes, deferred tax rollforwards, tax account reconciliations, and pertinent supporting schedules.
• Track and analyze the company's effective tax rate (ETR), focusing on key factors, discrete items, and forecasting effects on upcoming reporting periods.
• Cultivate relationships with third-party tax consulting firms that assist in the tax provision process.
• Define deliverables, review work papers and technical analyses, resolve complex tax accounting challenges, and ensure timely fulfillment of reporting obligations.
• Collaborate closely with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Treasury, and business leaders to assess the tax accounting consequences of transactions, organizational changes, and strategic initiatives.
• Offer technical guidance on tax-sensitive transactions and aid in documenting tax accounting positions.
• Maintain and execute SOX controls related to the tax provision process, including documentation, reconciliations, review controls, and management approvals.
• Assist in internal and external audits by preparing technical analyses, addressing auditor inquiries, and upholding comprehensive supporting documentation.
• Oversee provision-to-return analyses and ensure alignment between tax accounting positions and submitted tax returns.
• Monitor tax attributes and coordinate with internal teams and external advisors to achieve compliance objectives.
• Discover opportunities to standardize, automate, and enhance tax reporting processes.
• Improve the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of tax accounting operations.
• Fortify internal controls and mitigate risk through process optimization and documentation enhancements.
• Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA, Master of Taxation (MST), or Master of Accounting is preferred.
• Over 10 years of progressive corporate income tax experience, with substantial ASC 740 tax accounting exposure.
• Strong proficiency in tax provision processes, deferred taxes, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions (FIN 48), and tax-related financial statement disclosures.
• Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax; international tax experience is an advantage.
• Experience in a multinational or complex corporate setting.
• Proven success in managing external advisors and spearheading cross-functional initiatives.
• Previous leadership experience, including coaching, developing, and reviewing the work of team members.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clarify complex tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders.
