Tax Manager I – Private Client Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Act as the trusted advisor for clients by keeping abreast of industry trends, pinpointing client issues and conflicts, and proactively presenting solution options.

• Oversee staff in delivering engagement outputs, which encompass financial statements, tax returns, and work papers.

• Conduct technical and strategic reviews to ensure adherence to quality control standards, timely delivery, and budget compliance.

• Exhibit strong technical skills in relation to client responsibilities, covering trends, industries, and alternatives.

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of clients’ organizations, processes, and internal policies.

• Cultivate new client relationships with upper management through meetings, presentations, proposal development, and cross-serving initiatives.

• Manage and sustain multiple client relationships, engagements, and special projects.

• Formulate overall engagement budgets and achieve charge-hour targets.

• Handle billing and realization for designated clients and clarify any variances.

• Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff members.

• Promote a positive team environment and support management's decisions.

• Engage in practice development activities that generate new business and cross-serving opportunities.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

• 5 years of experience in public accounting or a related field.

• 3 years of supervisory experience.

• Active CPA or equivalent certification is mandatory.

• Capability to manage all facets of client engagements.

• Proficiency in both verbal and written communication across all organizational levels, internally and externally.

• Willingness to travel as required by client and business needs.

• Competent in the use of relevant technology.
