This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and execute tax compliance and planning services for high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, estates, private foundations, closely held businesses, and associated entities, including extensions, quarterly estimates, projections, and year-end strategies;
• Prepare and assess federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, private foundations, partnerships, S corporations, and closely held businesses;
• Discover tax planning opportunities and collaborate with wealth advisors and client service teams to align with clients’ comprehensive financial, estate, charitable, and investment goals;
• Investigate tax issues, formulate clear recommendations, and convey findings to clients, advisors, and internal stakeholders in a professional and practical manner;
• Manage client engagements, oversee workflow, adhere to deadlines, conduct review processes, and coordinate with both permanent and seasonal tax staff;
• Foster and sustain robust client relationships by delivering proactive communication, exceptional service, and prompt responses to client and advisor inquiries;
• Work in conjunction with wealth management teams to integrate income tax, fiduciary tax, gift tax, charitable planning, stock options, and multi-state planning considerations into client advice;
• Review and mentor tax preparers and seasonal staff, providing technical coaching and feedback throughout the busy season;
• Contribute to internal tax education, process enhancements, and practice standards that promote consistent, high-quality client service;
• Stay updated on relevant tax law changes and assist in delivering timely planning insights to advisors and clients via newsletters, presentations, social media, and other client communications.
• A CPA, EA, JD, or equivalent advanced tax credential, with a minimum of 5+ years of pertinent tax experience; experience in public accounting, family office, or wealth management is preferred.
• Background in serving high-net-worth individuals and families, including individual, fiduciary, gift, foundation, partnership, and closely held business tax returns.
• Extensive working knowledge of federal and state income tax, fiduciary income tax, gift and estate tax principles, charitable planning, stock compensation, and multi-state compliance issues.
• Capability to manage engagements, meet competing deadlines, support staff, and ensure ownership of client deliverables until completion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain tax concepts to clients and advisors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and the ability to learn and utilize tax, planning, workflow, and document management technologies.
• Keen attention to detail, proactive follow-through, sound professional judgment, and strong time management and organizational abilities.
• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a client-focused, team-oriented wealth management setting.
• Willingness and ability to put in additional hours as necessary during peak tax filing and planning periods.
• Experience in preparing tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, businesses, partnerships, foundations, and gifts.
• Familiarity with ProSystem fx® Tax, CCH Axcess, and BNA Income Tax™ Planner;
• Experience with a Big Four or large regional accounting firm.
