Senior Sales Tax

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Reconciling sales tax book accounts with sales tax returns

• Reconciling sales figures per state according to both internal records and sales tax returns

• Reviewing purchase accounts to ensure compliance with use tax regulations

• Conducting state-specific research on sales and use tax

• Identifying and executing process enhancements

• Addressing notices from tax authorities

• Overseeing the indirect tax compliance process

• Collaborating with other in-house tax professionals and clients

• Reviewing and approving monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual sales and use tax returns across various states, counties, and cities

• Managing all facets of the Sales and Use tax compliance process to guarantee timely and accurate filing of returns

• Handling various sales and use tax consulting projects, including technical research memoranda, nexus studies, exposure quantification, voluntary disclosures, and additional sales tax mitigation strategies, due diligence, and other state tax consulting tasks

• Executing tax-related configurations in ERP and accounting systems.

• A completed bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

• A minimum of 3 years of tax experience, including at least 1 year in sales tax consulting.

• The ability to meet deadlines or communicate proactively if unable to do so.

• A preference for working independently while valuing team spirit.

• An aptitude for maintaining a high degree of integrity and confidentiality.

• Valid work authorization in the US

• Previous experience with international tax firms is advantageous.

• Progress towards obtaining a CPA is a plus.
