This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Oversee the Company's income tax compliance activities, collaborating with external auditors and tax advisors to guarantee accurate and timely submissions of federal, state, local, and other necessary tax filings.
• Act as the main internal tax subject matter expert, offering guidance and strategic recommendations on tax-related issues throughout the organization.
• Create and manage a tax calendar to ensure the timely filing of sales and property taxes by internal teams, as well as the punctual payment and filing of income, payroll, and franchise taxes through third parties.
• Formulate and uphold a unified tax strategy that aligns with the Company’s business goals, growth initiatives, and changing operational framework.
• Collaborate with accounting leadership and external auditors to facilitate quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations, financial statement disclosures, and associated reporting obligations.
• Evaluate the tax implications of business changes, acquisitions, restructurings, new offerings, geographic expansions, and other strategic projects, providing actionable insights to leadership.
• Keep abreast of modifications in tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards, assess their organizational impacts, and implement necessary compliance actions for planning.
• Identify and capitalize on tax planning opportunities to minimize risks, enhance tax efficiency, and support the Company’s financial goals.
• Manage responses to inquiries, notices, audits, and examinations from tax authorities, collaborating with external advisors as needed.
• Develop and sustain effective tax-related processes, controls, documentation, and policies to ensure compliance, audit readiness, and operational effectiveness.
• Work collaboratively across Finance, Accounting, Legal, Human Resources, and business leadership to ensure tax considerations are integrated into significant business decisions and transactions.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field is preferred.
• CPA designation is favored; a Master's in Taxation (MST) is also preferred.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive tax experience, encompassing indirect taxes and familiarity with tax provision calculations.
• Experience working alongside external auditors and tax advisors.
• In-depth knowledge of nexus assessment and the ability to research sales tax regulations by state.
• Strong grasp of ASC 740 and the processes surrounding income tax provision.
• Proficiency in financial systems and tools, such as NetSuite, Excel, and business intelligence/reporting platforms.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills for data analysis and presentation as required.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
• The ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to standard operating procedures regarding patient data to ensure HIPAA compliance is essential.
• Minimal travel is expected.
• Work is primarily conducted in a remote home or office setting.
