This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Provide a comprehensive range of tax services while adhering to relevant laws and regulations.
• Engage in tax planning, conduct tax research, and review intricate income tax returns.
• Oversee client tax needs and foster strong client relationships.
• Lead seniors and staff, ensuring that tasks are appropriately assigned and completed accurately and punctually.
• Act as a technical resource for team members, offering training, coaching, and mentorship.
• Work collaboratively with Partners, managers, staff, and cross-functional teams to ensure exemplary client service.
• Assume responsibility for filing deadlines, planning opportunities, and updates pertaining to tax law modifications.
• Draft tax research memorandums, client correspondence, and other written materials.
• Assist clients with various tax, accounting, real estate, multi-state taxation, corporate taxation, and international issues.
• Uphold the firm’s rigorous standards of quality, accuracy, professionalism, and client service.
• Must possess Certified Public Accounting (CPA) certification.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
• Required senior-level experience in public accounting tax.
• Extensive tax knowledge, demonstrating strong technical expertise.
• Must be willing to relocate to New York if not already based there.
• Experience in multi-state taxation, corporate taxation, and real estate taxation is essential.
• Familiarity with international taxation is preferred.
• Solid accounting fundamentals and broad exposure to various accounting disciplines.
• Capability to independently review work and manage tax engagements with minimal oversight.
• Excellent writing skills, including proficiency in drafting tax research memos and client communications.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, and self-motivated.
• Strong commitment to client relationships and deliverables.
• A growth mindset and the ability to excel in a dynamic, client-service focused environment.
• Familiarity with ProSystem fx, BNA Tax Planner, CCH Tax Research Manager, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
• Experience in small to mid-sized accounting firms is highly valued.
