Tax Director – CPA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee the tax department of the firm, encompassing both compliance and advisory functions.

• Act as the senior technical expert and the primary catalyst for the growth of Tax Advisory Services (TAS).

• Cultivate the development of personnel and systems within the department.

• Ensure operational excellence by delivering precise returns and meeting all deadlines.

• Promote a healthy team dynamic by supporting and mentoring advisors and preparers.

• Enhance the advisory practice and strengthen client relationships.

⛳️ Requirements

• CPA certification is mandatory; a Master's in Taxation is highly preferred.

• A minimum of 10 years' experience in public accounting, with significant time spent in a leadership or review role.

• Expertise in developing tax strategies, with the ability to swiftly assess a client's situation and devise tactics to reduce their tax liabilities.

• Comprehensive knowledge of individual and business taxation, including 1040s, 1120-S, 1065, along with multi-state and multi-entity structures.

• Demonstrated ability to establish and sustain client relationships at an advisory level.

• Experience in managing or developing tax staff is essential.

• Must thrive in a growing firm environment, contributing structure in addition to increasing headcount.
