Tax Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Address tax-related inquiries and correspondence from sales representatives, online portal collection correspondents, and other internal staff.

• Acquire, scan, and organize valid tax exemption certificates.

• Input valid exemption certificates into Vertex Cloud.

• Perform regular reviews of tax exemption certificates to ensure our records are up to date.

• Manage the business license registration and renewal process.

• Assist with data cleanup projects in NetSuite.

• Aid in the migration of port-co data and the consolidation of historical data.

• Generate weekly, monthly, and annual data reports as needed.

• Maintain the shared SharePoint tax site for exemption certificate documentation.

• Help compile data for completing workpapers in the administration of sales and use tax audits.

• Execute monthly sales and use tax payments as required for assigned tax entities.

• Contribute to driving a continuous improvement strategy within the business to foster incremental enhancements in quality and efficiency.

• Meet operational objectives established by the company and supervisor.

• Support corporate initiatives and decisions.

• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Accounting / General Business or equivalent professional experience.

• Familiarity with invoicing, credit/accounts receivable, and customer master file management.

• Proficient in software applications (Excel, Word), NetSuite, and Vertex Cloud.

• Capability to frequently operate with minimal supervision.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Capable of engaging effectively with employees at all organizational levels, as well as with vendors and customers.
