This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Comprehend and/or produce a program statement of work (SOW) along with other defined customer component application requirements.
• Lead the development and management of obsolescence mitigation strategies, collaborating with a diverse range of functional groups including: Design Engineering, Materials and Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Leadership.
• The SOM may also engage with external entities such as customers, component manufacturers, brokers, and external suppliers.
• Create and/or maintain a proactive Obsolescence Management process aimed at delivering cost-effective obsolescence mitigation strategies and solutions.
• Facilitate resolution through support of lifetime buys, selection of alternative parts, redesign initiatives, or other mitigation strategies.
• Assist in contract negotiations, basis of estimates, and supplier statements of work for proposal activities.
• Present to multiple levels of program leadership to build consensus on strategic decisions and provide executive summaries of build limitations and risks.
• Regularly interact with Program and customer leadership to update them on the status of mitigation strategies, offering reports and presentations.
• Perform trade study analyses to identify cost-effective obsolescence-driven cut-in points for proposed unit redesigns.
• Generally requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient understanding of proactive and reactive component obsolescence management methodologies.
• Skills in data collection, analysis, and presentation to effectively discuss the system impact of component obsolescence concerns.
• Project Management expertise, including managing schedules, costs, and integrating stakeholder needs throughout the obsolescence process.
• Experience in Financial and Contract Management, including proposals, Basis of Estimates (BOE), Earned Value Management Systems (EVMs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs), and Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs).
