This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead the training strategy and promote pedagogical excellence and accessibility throughout the authoring community.
• Plan, facilitate, and continually enhance Author Workshops along with the L1–5 training curriculum for new authors and Content Technology Developers.
• Oversee the transition to a new authoring environment, which includes communication, rollout, training, and updates to documentation.
• Coordinate training on the use of AI across Courseware and support the adoption of AI and emerging technology workflows.
• Organize specialized training programs such as Rev1, Train-the-Trainer, alt text, and assessments training.
• Maintain and provide updates to the Authoring Guide.
• Schedule and facilitate peer reviews, manage the book club program, and write and oversee the Tuesday Tips series.
• Plan and deliver or manage New Markets trainings as well as one-off training sessions for sales representatives.
• Assess new tools and activities against best instructional practices in collaboration with pedagogy subject matter experts.
• Advise authors and CTDs on implementing pedagogy and integrating AI in content development.
• Lead and enhance the content accessibility program, which includes tracking, reviewing, writing alt text, and addressing accessibility gaps.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding content accessibility.
• Facilitate monthly Accessibility Work Group meetings and take part in Wiley Accessibility Guild meetings.
• Advocate for accessibility features and stay updated on accessibility regulations.
• Manage and maintain the Airtable database, including prioritization, automations, and updates.
• Collect information on feature requests to aid in prioritization.
• Lead monthly prioritization and developer update meetings, and participate in bi-weekly Content/Product meetings.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate frequently with product and platform teams.
• Represent the Training and Authoring function at leadership meetings when necessary.
• Exhibit executive presence through effective cross-functional engagement and composure under pressure.
• Demonstrated experience in instructional design, author training, or a related learning & development role, preferably within a publishing or content technology context.
• Strong skills in people management, with experience in leading and developing direct reports.
• In-depth knowledge of accessibility standards and a sincere commitment to inclusive content practices.
• Proficiency with tools like Airtable and the capability to manage data systems independently.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to convey intricate topics to varied audiences.
• A collaborative, calm, and influential demeanor in cross-functional environments.
