Systems Engineer – VeloCloud SD-WAN/SD-Branch

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Dakota.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary technical Solutions Engineer for a designated group of MSP/SP accounts, fostering strong and enduring relationships with technical, operational, and executive stakeholders within each partner organization.

• Assist MSP/SP partners in creating, packaging, and launching unique SD-WAN and SD-Branch managed services utilizing VeloCloud and the wider Arista portfolio.

• Design and provide customized enablement programs for all MSP/SP teams—GTM (sales and marketing), operations, NOC/support, and product management—ensuring they possess the knowledge necessary to position, sell, deliver, and support Arista-powered services.

• Guarantee the smooth integration of VeloCloud SD-Branch into MSP/SP operational frameworks, including OSS/BSS systems, service assurance platforms, and delivery workflows.

• Collaborate with MSP/SP sales teams on customer-facing opportunities—providing technical presentations, solution demonstrations, and workshops to MSP customers and prospects to enhance deal velocity and increase revenue.

• Oversee solution design, RFx technical responses, and Proof of Concepts (PoCs), ensuring that proposed architectures meet partner technical specifications and align with their downstream customers’ business objectives.

• Work together with MSP/SP partners to co-develop managed services that utilize the broader Arista portfolio—including campus switching, wireless, and security—creating additional revenue opportunities beyond SD-WAN.

• Act as the representative of the MSP/SP channel to Arista Product Management and Engineering, offering structured feedback on features and enhancements necessary for managed service and multi-tenant use cases.

• Represent Arista at industry events, MSP-focused forums, partner-led customer events, and conferences.

⛳️ Requirements

• BS/CS/CE degree or equivalent technical experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in WAN, networking, or cloud services, with at least some of that time spent in Service Provider or Managed Service Provider environments.

• Proficiency in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), WAN technologies, and SD-WAN.

• Experience in supporting pre-sales activities, including technical presentations, solution design, and PoCs.

• Capability to build long-lasting relationships and credibility with diverse stakeholders within MSP/SP organizations (from technical operations to product management and sales).

• Exceptional communication, listening, and presentation skills.

• Prior experience working with or supporting MSP/SP organizations, with knowledge of their structure and operational processes is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Linux, hypervisors, cloud computing, and operational tools for logs, metrics, events, and alerting.

• Knowledge of automation frameworks and scripting (REST APIs, Python, Ansible) is beneficial.

• Understanding of Service Provider routing environments, including MPLS VPN and Segment Routing (SR).

• Experience in co-developing or enabling managed service offerings is a significant advantage.

• Network Industry Certification is a plus.
