Systems Engineer I, OS Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Support responsibilities -

• - Serve as the initial point of contact for the OS team, performing preliminary troubleshooting.

• - Manage the ticket queue efficiently.

• - Record the steps undertaken and maintain relevant histories.

• - Assist in escalated incidents within the ticketing system, providing resolutions to issues and documenting solutions in the ticketing system.

• - Engage in a weekly on-call rotation with other team members.

• - Perform additional duties as required.

• Project/Administrative tasks -

• - Enhance and expand existing services.

• - Provide consultation and advice regarding internal and customer environments.

• - Maintain, migrate, deploy, configure, and troubleshoot advanced operating system configurations in the environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of work experience with a demonstrated skill set across various Microsoft server platforms and integrations.

• Proven ability to communicate effectively at various levels within a mid-size to enterprise-level organization.

• Experience in Citrix administration (VDA, Storefront, Delivery Controllers).

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Extensive knowledge of Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025 platforms.

• Fundamental understanding of Active Directory (Design, Migration, Troubleshooting, Configurations).

• Basic familiarity with SQL Server.

• Experience supporting environments utilizing VMware ESXi, Azure, and AWS.

• Solid troubleshooting methodology.

• Basic knowledge of DNS, Ports, and Windows Firewall.

• Experience with RMM tools, HCL BigFix (or familiarity with SolarWinds N-able, ConnectWise Automate).

• Advanced experience in supporting and implementing complex Windows/Citrix environments is advantageous.

• Windows Server Certifications (MCITP, MCP) are preferred.

• Management of Windows instances/services across various platforms.

• Experience with Netscaler.

• Familiarity with monitoring tool platforms such as Solarwinds, ScienceLogic, Zabbix, etc.
