Systems Administrator, COBOL Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Ensure the integrity and support of various operating system environments (such as Windows, Linux, etc.) and diverse computer systems.

• Administer, install, and troubleshoot technical issues.

• Offer COBOL coding assistance.

• Conduct system maintenance activities, including system backups, recovery, and file upkeep.

• Plan, install, and evaluate system software upgrades.

• Configure software and resolve technical challenges.

• Oversee and maintain software licensing and maintenance agreements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree from an accredited College/University in a relevant field is necessary.

• If the degree is outside the applicable field, an additional 4 years of relevant experience is required.

• Over 13 years of experience in IBM Mainframe environments.

• More than 10 years of extensive experience in developing and programming applications using COBOL and CICS.

• Strong knowledge of JCL, PROCs, IMS, and DB2 and/or Oracle databases.

• Practical experience with IBM utilities, including SORT, IEBGENER, and related control statements.

• High proficiency with TSO/ISPF, VSAM, ABEND-AID, and Mainframe debugging and troubleshooting.

• Exceptional communication abilities.

• Ability to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance.

• Capable of passing a drug screening, criminal background check, and credit checks.

• Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card holder.

• Must have resided in the United States for the last 5 years.

• Should not have traveled outside the United States for more than 6 months in the past five years, with military service being an exception (excluding military family members).
