This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +3 more states.
• The Systems Engineer will oversee the design and implementation of public safety solutions for Motorola’s ASTRO 25 and related technologies catering to State and Local government entities.
• Responsible for the design and implementation of the radio network, which includes infrastructure, subscribers, mobile backhaul, as well as WAN and CEN networks.
• Engage in a high level of interaction with customers and consultants, facilitating design reviews, conducting customer-witnessed staging and acceptance testing events, coverage acceptance testing, live system upgrades, and troubleshooting activities.
• Manage system buildout, configuration, and acceptance testing across both lab staging and field environments.
• Conduct radio coverage testing, frequency analysis, and interference mitigation efforts.
• Handle radio system licensing in compliance with FCC/Industry regulations.
• Prepare system fleet maps, encryption protocols, and radio programming templates.
• Ensure complete system documentation is maintained.
• Execute live system cutovers and upgrades.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or technical field along with 3+ years of relevant engineering or technical experience, or 4-6 years of engineering or technical experience.
• Must possess legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA-Junos, Nokia NRS1, CCNA, or similar are considered advantageous.
