This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Create and document high-level requirements for new or proposed projects, converting stakeholder needs into technical specifications.
• Assist in the expansion of high-level requirements into traceable lower-level Systems, Structures, and Components (SSCs) requirements with well-defined parent-child relationships.
• Implement and manage requirements in systems integration tools such as Visure, DOORS, and DOORS Next Gen.
• Set and uphold requirements quality standards, ensuring they are measurable, testable, traceable, and complete.
• Define and document interfaces between systems, ensuring both sides of each interface detail performance parameters (flow rates, pressures, temperatures, data protocols, etc.).
• Coordinate interface requirements across various facility systems (electrical, mechanical, controls, safety, etc.).
• Produce and critically assess technical documents (Design Interface Requirements, Engineering Design Specifications, Design Verification Records).
• Assist project leads in translating operational needs and safety requirements into equipment design specifications.
• Collaborate with quality assurance to guarantee traceability throughout design, fabrication, and testing phases.
• Support project leads in the identification, monitoring, and documentation of risks.
• Help develop cost models for proposed projects based on the scope of requirements.
• Establish and maintain systems engineering standards, templates, and best practices.
• Provide training to engineers on requirements quality principles and systems integration tools.
• Apply model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approaches in projects from concept through detailed design.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a STEM discipline from a U.S.-based ABET-accredited university with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 1-2 years of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) experience.
• Familiarity with NQA-1, ISO 9001, or equivalent quality control systems.
• Understanding of design control principles and formal change management processes.
• Experience in a hardware-based industry that adheres to strict workflow and quality assurance standards (nuclear, aerospace, automotive, medical devices, or similar).
• Proven experience working with suppliers/vendors to define technical specifications and assess design responses.
• Knowledge of requirements hierarchy and flow-down processes.
• Understanding of verification methods and their applications.
• Familiarity with interface management principles.
• Experience in requirements, traceability, and configuration management.
• Demonstrated experience in developing technical requirements for hardware systems (mechanical, electrical, controls, instrumentation).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control system documentation.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is preferred.
