This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.
• Oversee the technical architecture, modernization, and ongoing enhancement of the Grants.gov platform and associated solutions.
• Work in partnership with federal stakeholders, product teams, engineers, security experts, and operations personnel to create scalable, secure, and highly reliable solutions.
• Offer architectural guidance for system upgrades, cloud-based services, integrations, security compliance, and operational excellence.
• Direct the development and upkeep of enterprise, solution, application, integration, and platform architectures.
• Create scalable, highly available, secure, and resilient application and infrastructure solutions.
• Establish architecture roadmaps, modernization strategies, and technical recommendations.
• Collaborate with development, operations, security, and cloud teams to ensure architectural consistency.
• Assess and suggest emerging technologies and operational enhancements.
• Provide technical oversight for system-to-system integrations, APIs, and application workflows.
• Assist in architecture governance processes and ensure compliance with federal architecture standards.
• Engage in incident investigations, capacity planning, and technology risk evaluations.
• Support cybersecurity and privacy initiatives, including Authority to Operate (ATO) activities.
• Present technical concepts and architectural recommendations to stakeholders.
• Create architectural artifacts, technical management plans, and presentations tailored for executive audiences.
• Bachelor's degree.
• An additional four (4) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Eight (8) to ten (10)+ years of experience in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-scale application architectures.
• Proven experience in architecting cloud-hosted solutions, ideally within AWS environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise application integration, APIs, web services, and service-oriented or microservices architectures.
• Experience in designing highly available, secure, and scalable systems for public-facing applications.
• Knowledge of application lifecycle management, DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and release management.
• Background in supporting federal IT systems and compliance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of:
• Application architecture and design patterns
• Database architecture and performance optimization
• Security architecture and risk management
• Disaster recovery and business continuity planning
• Performance and capacity management
• Identity and access management
• Experience in developing technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and executive briefings.
• Excellent communication skills with the capability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must secure approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Preference will be given to candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY.
