Survivor Advocate, Speaker

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Deliver captivating presentations in schools throughout New York State.

• Share a personal narrative related to mobility safety that conveys a clear, impactful message.

• Ensure presentations align with SADD’s evidence-based prevention strategies.

• Integrate interactive or reflective activities suitable for classroom environments.

• Collaborate with SADD personnel on joint programming initiatives and consistent messaging.

• Administer or assist with student surveys following events.

• Complete necessary verification forms and submit feedback documentation along with invoices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Personal experience related to mobility safety (as a survivor, advocate, or reformed driver).

• Exceptional storytelling skills with a strong prevention message and key takeaways.

• Proficient in engaging youth in a classroom environment.

• Willingness and capability to travel within New York State.

• Exhibit professionalism, reliability, and promptness.

• Experience in public speaking within schools or working with youth populations.

• Skilled in facilitating discussions and thoughtfully addressing student inquiries.

• Familiarity with software including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva, Adobe, Grammarly, and other relevant tools.

• Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision, and flexibility in scheduling; evening and weekend work may be required on occasion.

• Commitment to a responsible and healthy lifestyle that aligns with SADD's values.

• Ability to successfully pass a Federal SAM and background check.

• Must provide a valid IRS W-9 form, along with invoicing and stipend payment.

• A valid driver’s license and automobile insurance, as well as access to reliable transportation or alternative travel options beyond public transit, are required.
