Survey Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Accountable for gathering data to ensure project completion.

• Identifying boundaries, pins, improvements, utilities, and more while executing various project types, including ALTA, boundary surveys, construction staking, and topographic surveys.

• Verifying and processing raw field data, carrying out calculations, and downloading/filing survey data.

• Conducting project research as necessary.

• Adhering to instructions and work orders from project managers.

• Engaging in daily communication with your Field Project Manager to verify if you are on track to complete your field schedule and to notify them of any changes regarding your schedule.

• Physical work environment requirements:

• Capability to safely traverse and navigate rugged terrain in remote locations.

• Willingness to work outdoors regularly in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wet, and muddy situations, as well as at heights.

• Ability to transport heavy equipment to various job sites (regularly lifting/moving up to 25 pounds, frequently lifting/moving up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lifting/moving up to 100 pounds).

• Readiness to travel regionally and nationally on a frequent basis.

• Availability to work overtime, including weekends as required.

• Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.

• Ensuring projects are executed safely and efficiently while adhering to project timelines and budgets.

• Maintaining survey equipment and resolving issues that arise in the field.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief.

• Comprehensive understanding of surveying principles and practices.

• Proficient in using survey instruments such as total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.

• Part 107 license is preferred but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with CAD software, particularly Carlson AutoCAD, is advantageous but not essential.

• Outstanding communication and leadership abilities.

• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, focused on delivering high-quality work punctually and within budget.
