Survey Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Accountable for gathering data to ensure project completion:

• Identifying boundaries, pins, improvements, utilities, etc., while conducting various project types, including ALTA, boundary, construction staking, and topographic surveys.

• Review and process raw field data, execute calculations, and manage survey data downloads/files.

• Conduct project research as required.

• Adhere to directives and work orders from project managers.

• Maintain daily communication with your Field Project Manager to verify progress on your field schedule and notify them if you are ahead or behind schedule.

• Capability to safely navigate and traverse rugged terrain in remote locations.

• Ability to consistently work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wet, and muddy environments, as well as in high/precarious areas.

• Competence in transporting heavy equipment to various job sites (regularly lifting/moving up to 25 pounds, frequently lifting/moving up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lifting/moving up to 100 pounds).

• Willingness to travel regionally and nationally frequently.

• Availability to work overtime, including weekends as necessary.

• Cultivate and sustain excellent relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.

• Ensure that projects are executed safely and efficiently, adhering to project timelines and budgets.

• Maintain survey equipment and resolve issues that arise in the field.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief.

• Strong grasp of surveying concepts and practices.

• Proficient in operating survey equipment, including total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.

• Part 107 license is preferred but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with CAD software, particularly Carlson AutoCAD, is advantageous but not essential.

• Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, with an emphasis on delivering high-quality work punctually and within budget.
