Surgical Technologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide support for operating room specialties and be available for on-call coverage.

• Prepare the surgical operating suite with the necessary instruments and supplies.

• Employ proper aseptic techniques and adhere to standard precautions.

• Comply with policies regarding medication and specimen management.

• Get patients ready, position them appropriately, and cover them with drapes.

• Engage in the surgical pause to confirm the correct patient and surgical site.

• Anticipate and adjust to the preferences of the surgeon as well as patient-care variables.

• Assist in updating materials that reflect surgeon preferences.

• Carry out sponge, needle, and instrument counts.

• Utilize resources to foster a cost-effective and efficient environment for patients.

• Execute other assigned or necessary duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a surgical technologist.

• A diploma or certificate from a college or an accredited technical institution.

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program and obtaining nationally recognized certification (CST or TS-C) within 6 months of hire for surgical technologists employed after 12/29/2020.

• CPR certification from the American Heart Association required within 60 days of hire.

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate necessary.

• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate required.

• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate needed.

• Preferred: 1 year of experience in travel assignments.

• Preferred: 5 years of experience as a surgical technologist.

• Military surgical technologist training programs are accepted.

• Must adhere to HIPAA, privacy and information-security policies, the Code of Business Conduct, relevant laws, and company training requirements.
