Surety Underwriter Trainee

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Successfully complete a thorough surety underwriting training program that includes mentoring, self-directed study, and online learning.

• Acquire knowledge and enhance analytical skills to effectively investigate, analyze, and underwrite surety business for profitability.

• Underwrite new submissions and manage existing accounts with guidance from experienced mentors.

• Evaluate and analyze financial conditions, credit status, and organizational profiles to assess and determine the acceptability of risks in accordance with UFG underwriting policies and procedures.

• Support surety underwriters in managing their portfolios.

• Deliver exceptional customer service in all interactions with both internal and external clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and surety experience.

• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, or accounting is preferred.

• Certification or progress toward the AFSB designation is preferred.

• A minimum of 1 year of professional work experience is preferred.
