Surety Underwriter Trainee

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Successfully complete a thorough surety underwriting training program that includes mentoring, self-directed study, and online learning.

• Develop an understanding and enhance analytical skills necessary to investigate, analyze, and underwrite surety business profitably.

• Underwrite new submissions and manage existing accounts with guidance from mentors.

• Evaluate and assess financial conditions, credit standings, and organizational profiles to analyze and determine the acceptability of risks in accordance with UFG underwriting policies and procedures.

• Support surety underwriters in managing their portfolios.

• Handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

• Deliver exceptional customer service in all interactions with both internal and external clients.

• Maintain electronic records in line with departmental guidelines.

• Acquire exposure and skills on various software platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, or accounting is preferred.

• Certification or progress towards the AFSB designation is preferred.

• A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional work experience is preferred.
